Sadie is a Happy Galway Girl

Special mobility trikes bring so much joy to children who need that little extra support when it comes to cycling. Meet Galway girl, Sadie who received her special mobility trike as part of Variety Ireland’s Recycle Mobility Programme which now means she can be included in cycling activities with her family and friends. On hand to present Sadie with her new set of wheels was Minister Anne Rabbitte who has been instrumental in securing funding for our Recycle Mobility Programme so wonderful children like Sadie are presented with the opportunity to have their own special mobility trike. In a report conducted by Dr Jolanta Burke from The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, shows that special mobility trikes can improve the mental and physical well-being for both the child and other family members by up to 87.5%.

One of the many reasons being it supports inclusion for children with disabilities so they can experience physical exercise while be happy while doing cycling activities with other family members and friends. Here is a note we received, telling us the impact and joy it is bringing to Sadie. Many happy year’s of cycling Sadie from all of us here at Variety Ireland!

“Dear Variety Ireland and Minister Rabbitte,
I was want to say thank you so much for Sadie’s new trike. She simply loves it and it now allows us to enjoy outdoor activities together as a family. She loves to be out and about seeing new things while riding her trike. Your Recycle Mobility Programme is great at supporting families with children with disabilities that gives them access to having their own trike.
Thank you so much!”
Susanne (Sadie’s mother)
