Look at Leo Go!

Look at Leo Go!

Lots of smiley happy faces is just part of what our Recycle Mobility Programme represents. Say hello to the fabulous Leo who has just received his special mobility trike as part of our Recycle Mobility Programme which is supported by Minister Anne Rabbitte and The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth. Our Recycle Mobility Programme is design to ensure children like Leo with mobility issues can experience the joys of cycling with their family and friends. Young Leo suffers from Cerebral palsy and right vision impairment which means he needs a little extra help when out and about cycling. His new trike not only means he has equal access to cycling in a safe way with his family and friends, but also ensures it helps build up muscle tone in his body.  This young man and his family now have new opportunities to explore the new greenways ad parks across his native Waterford which is great for his own mental and physical well-being.  Here is a short note we received from Leo’s mom, letting us know how Leo’s trike is helping him

“Dear Variety Ireland,
I would like to say a big “Thank you” to  Minister Anne Rabbitte and Variety Ireland for contributing to my disabled son’s bike. It really has important for his independence and to feel he can learn to ride a bike like any child”. He loves it and your Recycle Mobility Programme is very important and a game changer for families with children with disabilities.
Thank you again!”
