Last week was a truly special day for the students of St Paul’s Special School in Beaumont, Dublin 9. Thanks to the generosity and determination of serial fundraiser Jack, supported by his family and friends, vital funds were raised to provide a special mobility trike for the school’s students.
This heart-warming achievement follows on from Jack’s earlier fundraising success in June 2025. On that occasion, young Jack teamed up with the incredible staff at The Orchard Preschool in Killester to raise money for students with mobility needs at St Brigid’s GNS in Killester, Dublin 3. Their efforts resulted in the purchase of a specially designed trike, helping to make movement and play more accessible for the children who need it most.
Adding to the excitement of the day, the trike was officially presented to the students by special guest Liam Cunningham, the Dublin-born actor best known for his role in Game of Thrones. His presence helped make an already memorable occasion even more unforgettable.
Commenting on the generous gift from Jack and his family and friends, deputy principal at St Pauls , Mary Therese said “This new special mobility bike is a wonderful gift from this amazing young man and his family. It now means that students here at St Pauls have access to safe cycling which allows them to be outside in the good weather having fun. It’s total inclusion which benefits both the physical and mental health of the user of the bike along with fellow students . It is total inclusion and again we really want to thank Variety Ireland, Jack and his family for funding this special mobility trike for our students.”
On behalf of Variety Ireland, we would sincerely like to thank Jack, his family and friends, yet again for raising money to co-fund this bike with the help of Variety Ireland which now ensures children with mobility issues have equal access to cycling in school.
