Dublin GAA Football Academy 2025 Special Christmas Gifts

Last summer, members of GAA Dublin Under 15’s Football Academy kicked over 100,000 shots in less than 90 minutes to raise a whopping €10,000 so they could purchase 4 special mobility trikes for four special schools across Dublin.

As a special thank you to the lads and kind help of former Dublin & County CEO, John Costello, the GAA invited some of this year’s academy into Croke Park earlier this month to present one of the trikes to a very special young man called Rogan who is a student at St Michael’s House in Baldoyle.
On the run up to Christmas, the lads from Dublin were kept busy this week as they were out and about delivering all four special mobility trikes to Scoil Chiaran (Glasnevin) St Michael’s Special School (Baldoyle) St Joesph’s Special School (Tallaght) and Ballyowen Meadows Special School (Stillorgan) just in time for Christmas.

Commenting on the 2025 football team’s achievements, Dublin coach Anto Holly Said”  It’s a fantastic learning experience for each footballer, who not only got to meet the students and teachers in each special school, but to give something back and appreciate the challenges each child with additional needs faces on a daily basis.  Thanks to these lads, students in each school can look forward to many happy years of cycling together. It’s fun and great exercise.  What a way to end 2025 and thanks to Variety Ireland, the coaches and especially to the lads for all their hard work and efforts.”
Variety Ireland, who already partner with Dublin GAA for their cross county Feile’s, would like to thank both the coaches and players from this year’s Dublin GAA Football Academy for all their hard work and efforts in raising funds to provide special mobility trikes to the four schools this Christmas. Their efforts ensure children with mobility issues now have access to safe cycling on their very own special mobility trikes. As Dublin coach Anto Holly said “What a great way to end the year”.
Variety Ireland would like to sincerely thank Dave Raftery from Lorcan Construction who kindly organised the dropping off of the special mobility trike to Croke Park for the event and ensuring it’s safe delivery to St Michael’s House in Baldoyle afterwards.
Happy Christmas Everyone!
