Special mobility trikes ensure that children with mobility issues can be included in cycling activities with their friends and family. They also offer an air of independence to children who are unbale to cycle traditional trikes.
Since young Harry received his new trike thanks to our Recycle Mobility Programme supported by Minister Anne Rabbitte and Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, there simply has been no stopping him. Harry who has Cerebral Palsy now has the opportunity to cycle himself in safety and experience great days out with his family and friends. His trike also helps to build up important muscle tone in his legs which is an important part of his required daily physical exercise.
Let’s take a look at a note we received from Harry’s parents and what they think of Harry’s new trike.
“Dear Variety Ireland
Harry, along with his mum and Dad, would like to express sincere thanks to Minister Rabbitte and Variety Ireland for their generous gift.
There has been no stopping Harry and he is regularly seen whizzing about on his dazzling new trike. Not only is he benefiting therapeutically from the exercise but his confidence and social skills are improving as he meets people out and about on his travels. We are so grateful to Minister Rabbitte and all at Variety Ireland for running such a great programme to help address the needs of children with mobility issues around Ireland.
Thank you!”
