This week saw the announcement of the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal grants, which will see 147 different children’s charities receive funding from the almost €4 million raised during the Late Late Show Show last November.
147 different charities in total will receive funding, which is estimated to benefit 1.2 million children and their families all across Ireland. This is all thanks to the incredible generosity of the Irish public!
This year will see Variety Ireland receive a grant that will go towards helping even more children receive a specialised mobility trike, which have proven to benefit a child’s mental and physical wellbeing, as well as being an amazing asset in developing a child’s independence and sense of inclusion.
We were delighted to be invited to RTÉ earlier this week, to meet RTÉ Director General Dee Forbes and Community Foundation’s Chief Executive Denise Charlton. Not only did we get to thank them for their support, but as our ambassador Maddix was there on her Variety mobility trike, we were also able to show them first hand how their grant can directly benefit and impact a child’s life!
