New Cycling Experiences for Elaina in Co Mayo

New Cycling Experiences for Elaina in Co Mayo

At Variety Ireland, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to be included in cycling activities with their family and friends. Our Recycle Mobility Programme which is supported by Minister Ann Rabbitte and The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth along with Minister James Lawless and The Department of Transport ensures children with disabilities champions this cause.

Since the introduction of our Recycle Mobility Programme in 2021, we continue to help hundreds of families with children with disabilities so their child can access a special mobility trike of their own.

This not only ensures inclusivity for each child but can also contribute to the overall mental and physical well-being of the whole family by up to 87.5% (RSCI Report 2022)

Meet the beautiful Elaina from Co Mayo who recently received a special mobility trike as part of our Recycle Mobility Programme. This now means she can be included in cycling activities with the rest of the family and enjoy the fabulous Great Western Greenway in Co Mayo and beyond. Here are some photos and short video we received from Elaina’s mother thanking us for giving her daughter the opportunity of being able to be included in cycling activities with the rest of the family.

On behalf of Variety Ireland, ministers and government departments supporting our programme, may we all wish Elaina many happy years of cycling.

“Dear Variety Ireland
I just want to thank you and the minister and their departments for helping us with Elaina’s new special mobility trike.  It is helping to make her life more enjoyable and bring happiness to our special girl. She really is progressing well on her new trike that will make a huge difference in developing her physical well-being while ensuring we can do lots of outdoor activities together as a family.
Thank you so much.”
