The Joy of Real Shamrocks for St Patricks Day

Variety Ireland were delighted to partner with the Irish Prison Services ahead of this year’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations where with their help we were able to deliver homegrown Irish shamrocks to children at St Michael’s Special School in Raheny and other schools in Dublin ahead of this year’s St Patrick’s Day 2024.

Chief Officer Cahill and Assistant Chief Officer Muldoon from the Prison Service were on hand to present shamrocks to Principal Ms Kari Brady and her students at St Michael’s Special School who were delighted to receive real live shamrocks grown here in Ireland.
As part of Variety Ireland’s own commitment to sustainability and the environment, all shamrocks were organically grown and nurtured by the team of Glengariff Prison Training Unit in Dublin, before being distributed to St Michael’s and other Dublin national schools who each received batches of shamrocks for their students donated by The Irish Prison Service ahead of St Patrick’s Day
Principal of St Michael’s, Ms Kari Brady commented that this was such a wonderful gesture where real homegrown shamrocks were distributed to her own students and students at other schools around Dublin ahead of St Patrick’s Day. Principal Brady thanked The Irish Prison Service and Variety Ireland for their kind gesture towards her school and other national schools across the city of Dublin.
On behalf of all the children and staff at schools who received their real shamrocks ahead of St Patrick’s Day, Variety Ireland would like to thank Chief Officer Cahill, Assistant Chief Officer Muldoon and all the team at Glengariff Prison Training Unit in Dublin for all their efforts. Such a kind and considerate gesture.
