Sports Inclusion
Sport for All
Promoting Equal Access to Sport
Everyone knows the benefits and positive impact that sports activities can have for children with additional needs, that it why Variety Ireland just love helping children feel included both on and off the pitch.
Sport and exercise can have such huge physical & mental benefits for a child who has additional needs, so we encourage children to take part in activities if possible, no matter what their ability.
Sport can also offer a sense of Inclusion, promote independence and give a child a boost in self-confidence. But most of all, it can offer something that many of us take for the granted – the chance to join in with peers, to be included and have fun!

All Star GAA Féiles
In 2025, Variety Ireland reached out to all GAA Clubs in the Dublin area, with an aim of bringing children with additional needs within the GAA community together. The response was overwhelming, with so many clubs within the Dublin region already catering for children with additional needs.
We were delighted to host the first of our All Star GAA Féiles in October that year, closely followed by a Christmas Féile. These Féiles bring children from GAA clubs together in a day of sport, activities, games, food and fun, with hundreds attending from dozens of clubs in the Dublin area.
We will be hosting more Féiles throughout 2026, so if you would like more information or would like to take part, please feel free to Get In Touch.

Inclusive Cycling Hubs
Variety Ireland’s main focus has always been on ‘bringing children into the sunshine’ by way of mobility, and since the launch of our Recycle Mobility Programme in 2021, we have been able to help even more children become mobile than ever before.
In 2024 we launched the very first automated inclusive greenway cycling hub, on the Western Greenway in Mulranny, Co Mayo.
We are now delighted to be involved in the development of community based cycling hubs, with our first ‘Cycling Inclusion Centre of Excellence’ opened in west Dublin in 2025.

The Warriors
Variety Ireland are proud sponsors of the Warriors team, from Whitehall Colmcille GAA Club, in Dublin.
This inclusive team encourages children with additional needs to get involved and join in with other team mates in GAA sports. It’s inspirational to see what children from across the disability spectrum can achieve when given equal opportunities and access to sport.
We are continually blown away by how incredible children are and can see the benefits sports inclusion can provide for everyone. The support from club volunteers, local communities and above all parents, can really help in making so many children’s lives that bit brighter.
Come on the Warriors!!
