Variety Christmas Movie Screening

The ODEON Cinema Group in association with their charity partner, Variety, the Children’s Charity, proudly hosted a screening of the new movie ‘FROZEN’ generously donated by Disney.

370 able and disabled children attended this very special screening of Disney’s latest heart warming tale ‘FROZEN’ in ODEON Cinema in Point Village Dublin on Wednesday 18th December where every child received treats and drinks from the ODEON food concession before taking their seats in the incredible ISENSE screen  – a technological masterpiece, designed to give customers the most comfortable viewing environment in which to experience the crystal sharp picture, 360° sound and awesome 3 storey screen of ISENSE.

Variety, the Children’s Charity invited children from across the Dublin area to attend the special charity screening at the ODEON Cinema, Point Village from schools including:

  • St. Laurence O’Toole, Girls National School, Dublin 1
  • Francis Street Boys National School, Dublin 8
  • Pobalscoil Rosmini Community School, Dublin 9
  • St. Vincent’s Centre, Dublin 7
  • St. Mary’s School for Deaf Girls, Dublin 7
  • St. Joseph’s Junior National School, Dublin 11

Doreen Smyth, Chief Barker of Vaiety said, “Variety, the Children’s Charity is a voluntary organisation that has been providing Sunshine Coaches, Wheelchair Swings and Mobility Equipment to sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across Ireland since 1951. The importance of this ODEON Cinema day was that it was an opportunity for students with abilities to integrate with children with a range of disabilities including, blind, deaf and physical and mental impairments”.

Disney’s ‘FROZEN’ portrays the story of fearless optimist Anna as she sets off on an epic journey teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven to find Anna’s sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. ‘FROZEN’ is playing in ODEON Cinemas nationwide.
