Dickie Rock Receives Variety Living Legend Award

Variety Chief Barker Doreen Smyth and Assistant Chief Barker Betty Wall present award to Dickie RockOn 1st December 2013, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Ireland was proud to honour legendary Irish singer Dickie Rock at a Celebrity Luncheon in the Grand Hotel, Malahide, Co. Dublin.

Guests at yesterday’s sold out event enjoyed a four course lunch, followed by All Star entertainment from many famous Irish personalities who were in attendance. Performers included Paddy Cole, Sonny Knowles, Sil Fox and not to mention Helen Jordan and children from her stage school. Helen was instrumental in choreographing all the entertainment for the afternoon.

Following a humorous introduction by TV and radio star Ronan Collins, Dickie Rock was presented with the Variety Living Legend Award by Variety’s Chief Barker Doreen Smyth.

Variety, the Children’s Charity is a voluntary organisation that has been providing Sunshine Coaches, Wheelchair Swings and Mobility Equipment to sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across Ireland since 1951.

All proceeds raised from this event will go towards funding the next Variety Liberty Swing.
