Santa Experience at Childvision

On the 5th, 6th & 7th of December 2014, Variety, the Children’s Charity was proud to sponsor 140 children at the Christmas Sensory Santa Experience at Childvision in Drumcondra. The schools attended were St Vincent’s Centre Navan Road, Phoenix Park Special School and St Joseph’s Junior National School, Ballymun. The children were able to listen to the carol singers, touch the animals in the manger, see the elves make the toys, listen to Mrs Clause tell stories meet and receive a present off Santa and finally enjoy the Christmas disco. On 23rd November 2014, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Ireland were proud to honour legendary Irish singer Red Hurley at a Celebrity Luncheon in the Grand Hotel, Malahide. In attendance was the Lord Mayor of Dublin Christy Burke, Pete St. John, Sonny Knowles and many other famous personalities from the entertainment industry who were there to support Red and his family. For the third time, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Ireland hosted the“BOAT FOR HOPE 2014” family fun day at Howth Yacht Club on Sunday, 29th June 2014. Up to 80 children (with disabilities) and their families went out on the water in the harbour in glorious sunshine for a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ themed battle with the big ship to try and get the treasure  from the pirates and returned to shore for a BBQ lunch and entertainment.
